As you all know, this years JemCon carries the Silver 25th Anniversary theme and because this is such a momentus event in Jem history (and let's face it, it only comes around once) we've decided to hold a special commemorative fashion contest.

Its a "Silver" theme so we'd like you to go all out on glam and glitz and design something really special. The lovely thing about this contest is that it will be judged by Samantha Newark so Jem really will be selecting her own favourite design, maybe for a top award ceremony or special dinner-date with Rio? Let you imagination run Riot!

There are some great prizes - The winner will see their design returned, signed by Sam and framed. They'll also get a JemCon goodie bag, a one-off winners T-shirt and $25 gift card.

The contest is open now and we'll be accepting entries right up to August 31st 2010.

With 2010 having been a very fashion filled year, we definitely felt that we needed to have this special contest! I'm very excited to see the entries and even more excited that Samantha Newark has agreed to select the winning design!

No, you don't have to attend to enter. Though, as in years past, I suggest you have a supporting membership to enter.

So, everyone if you can make it or not is welcome to enter and have an equal chance of having their design chosen by Samantha Newark!

I do plan to ask Samantha to autograph the winning design and see that it is returned to the winner along with their prizes! I think that would make for a great souvenir.

Looking very forward to seeing the designs. Samantha is also quite honored and excited that we're leaving it to her to name the official silver anniversary fashion! She's been wonderful about it!

I submitted my entry yesterday I couldn't figure out how the heck to put a face on the template and this is my first entry in any of the JEM CON contests I seriously doubt I am going to win or even have a chance compared to the many talented members here but I had fun at attempting the design so to me that is the important thing and I just want to wish everyone that enters The Best of Luck!!!

As with all the other fashion contests inthe last 2 years, a news article will be prepared with all the entries. This will be after the con sometime but I can't say when exactly as its a hugely busy period for me getting the website ready and content reorganised for 2011

After JemCon 2010 comes to a close, I will be sure that the winner is announced. Then all of the entries will be posted shortly after.
As Bob said, it's a very busy time. Though, I promise that I will be working with Stefan & Bob, to see that all 2010 info. is completed,posted and finalized before we change over to JemCon 2011

So have faith that I will be around and seeing to it that all details regarding 2010 are completed to make the transition into 2011 a smooth one.

Like Bob said, it will have a story and gallery just as other fashion contests have and will be available on the site. I know you'll all be very curious and rightfully so.

So don't worry, I'm not leaving anytime soon and I assure you that we will keep our promises once we clean up and re-coop from JemCon. Bob has quite a journey to get back home and recooperate.

So, yes all of the designs will be posted and available for viewing in the time after JemCon, including news about the winner and the contest.

Yes, the designs were amazing this year! The designs that have come in so far for the silver contest are also great!
I'm definitely eager to see more and I think Samantha's going to be blown away by the talent!

The winning fashion is what I know I definitely want to see! I know that the contest has already been started for receiving entries, but is there anyone who knows for certain when the time is that Samantha Newark will choose the winning design and when it will be revealed to us Jem Fans here on the board after Samantha has chosen it? I would love to know especially since the board is not set up anymore for sending special Board messages to everyone here on the board all at once for big announcements like svgbaritone once told me in a post after I had left mine in the exact same topic. Even though someone once reported a mass e-mail as spam, is there anyway that it will be up and running at all once again? It is certainly a lot more convenient and allows us members here on the board to take advantage in certain instances should an immediate response or opinion by us board members be necessary. Can't wait to see the winning Jem 25th Silver Anniversary Fashion!

I plan to have Sam look at them as early as possible. So it will be decided most likely on Saturday. The entries will all be displayed for Sam to judge and when she chooses a winner, we will mark the winnint entry so that everyone there can see the winning design on display while they are shopping and looking.

We will announce the winner on the messageboard from the hotel and then when JemCon is over, I will see that more information is provided.

During JemCon we normally send out updates via the messageboard, so that people who aren't there are able to receive news, pics and videos from JemCon as it is announced.

So I do promise that the winner will be announced. Then after JemCon we will follow up with a story and post the entries. Just a matter of everyone traveling home once we pack up and depart.

Don't worry, I'll make sure the news gets out!

This will be my very time ever to get to meet Samantha Newark. I am really looking forward to it. Back when I was a teenager, I had always fantasized about meeting the actress that played Jem/Jerrica in-person and it is now going to become a reality. I think that her choosing this fashion is one of the highest honors that we the Jem Fan Community can give her to celebrate the 25th Silver Anniversary of the cartoon that has inspired and encouraged us all to become the adults that we are today two decades and a half later. I certainly hope that you all agree. Can't wait until the convention this fall. See you all there!
