Everybody is writing their 2cents on Shout!'s forum about how we'd like this new release to be.
I thought of creating a poll so it's a bit more clear what we want most.
You can choose up to 5 options.
If you think I left out something important, PM me before voting.

I don't think Jemcon footage could be added -- that would put Jemcon on Hasbro radar, which could shut Jemcon down.

I voted for the Alternate Season 1 (Super Sunday version), but really they should be able to create the option of watching that either way ... if they have the Super Sunday footage. I like the idea of CD soundtrack(s), but that could easily be it's own release.

Hi Davide,

Poll results are temporarily hidden until the Starlight Girls fashion contest has officially been finalised.

Stefan should get back to the winner shortly and then the poll results can be reinstated and made visible to everyone again.

I hadn't thought of all these options; Thanks. It'll help fuel our wish lists to Shout factory.

One thing though- I really doubt and honestly don't think Christy should include her Jem Bible as part of the set - on one hand, I feel that it's something private- but on the other hand, she is selling copies (I think) on her site. Maybe I'm wrong. I have to go check back to see if I'm wrong. -Omar

IIRC, it's just for members of the TO board, at least for now.
Personally, I wouldn't mind having it on the new DVD set, maybe in a downloadable PDF, if that's possible.

Not sure if you own the Rhino sets, but parts of the Jem Bible ARE on those releases as extra features. So if Christy had it released then, I'm sure she'd have it on this release. It seems she's just as excited as we are. :cheesy:

Sorry Eric, I don't have the Rhino sets. Of course, that changes everything- then its cool if the Jem Bible is included -Omar

I would kill for an official soundtrack. I want to hear all the full songs as they were recorded, free of background noise. That would be a dream come true! I'm so beyond excited for this dvd release! I hope they do a much better job than Rhino did. Also, I hope we get the complete series this time.

I'd love commercials, a CD soundtrack and any alternate versions that exist. :)

One thing not mentioned on this list, (which I AM aware may be impossible), is the language tracks.
It would be neat if they had English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc, language selections.

How could I forget, since I'm Italian???
I mentioned that on the Shout forum, though!

Administrators: if I edit the poll, will the sysem keep the previous votes?

It seems like it would be easy for them to obtain and add multi language tracks -- but it seemed like it was kind of out of the question with Transformers and GI Joe. I wonder if there would be royalty issues for the voices, international laws, etc.

But it's worth a try.

Don't think there's much in the way of royalties for voice actors, could be more of an issue of licensing and/or rights to the dubbed version of the show in other languages. My guess it's a budget thing though. While adding the multiple languages sounds simple, it would take a bit of audio work and with 65 episodes, it might make it cost prohibitive, especially for a R1 release. Not much of a market for multi-language DVDs in the States aside from perhaps Spanish.

That's true.
here, in Italy, sometimes shows can't be released on DVD because, even when they find old masters with the dubbed version, they can't use it because it's not very clear whom those tracks legally belong to.

Exactly what you said Travis, I thoroughly agree. I can't wait to get mine! But Australia is always the last one down the list for marketing :(

I think she actually doesn't have such restrictions. I'm from Russia and I'm not a TO board member but Christy kindly agrees to ship her Jem bible to my country as well :-)
As for extra features - I'd like them to do some documentaries about how the animation was done, that's smth really interesting! :-)

Welcome aboard, Chris.
I'm qite surprised a very few people voted for box-art, though.

Thank you! I'm really excited to join you guys and share my passion for Jem :-)
I guess other options are just more tempting ;-) I still had to sacrifice one or two to match 5 choices only condition.
You know guys, lots of people tend to be frustrated about Rhino release. But I personally think they did a good job! I mean they had even more commentaries tracks on those DVDs than the box mentioned itself. Not to mention all the other amazing special features. And god bless them for that!
Of course I do hope that SF will outdo them in their release but I still appreciate all the things we were provided with by Rhino release. I can forgive them (Rhino) for messing up some songs and other things. I try not to regret that I'll never see which special features Rhino had in mind for the third DVD-set :-)))
