CONTESTS :: JEMCON 2012
Here at JemCon, we like to encourage visitor and member participation and what better way to do that (and air your creative streak) than with a selection of fun contests.
So far, the following contests are taking place during JemCon 2012:JEMCON FASHION :: JEMCON 2012
One of the unique features of JemCon is the limited edition fashion produced for each convention, from a winning design chosen from entries submitted in the annual JemCon Fashion Design Contest.
Each fashion is designed and crafted to fit a 12½" fully-poseable fashion doll, and designed by a Jem™ fan specifically for the convention!
All money raised by the sale of the produced fashion (via the registration package and charity auction held during the weekend of the convention itself) will be donated to our designated charity, so this fun contest really is for a very good cause.
This year's fashion will once again be made by the extremely talented and wonderful Rachael (Jemgirl). The fashion will include a custom pair of Jem pumps; the color of which can be chosen by the designers in their submissions.
When is the JemCon 2012 Fashion Design Contest?
The main fashion design contest (for designers aged 16 years and over) was open from October 15th, 2011 until November 13th, 2011,
giving designers exactly four weeks to get entries in to us.
Our JemCon 2012 "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest (for designers aged 15 years and under) will open at the start of January 2012,
so if you're a budding young designer, or you know somebody else who is, there will be another fantastic opportunity to express more fashion flare then.
What is the theme for this year's fashion design contests?
The theme this year for both the JemCon 2012 Fashion Design Contest and the JemCon 2012 "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest is "Straight From The Heartland", so
we're asking designers to think along the lines of cowgirl-chic and midwestern-glam when they design their fashion entries.
And the winner is...
The winning design was announced on December 1st, 2011. There were a lot of great designs to choose from but Roxy will be showing us the way to rock St. Louis in this exciting design by Maria E O'Connell.

A. The voting process begins on February 3rd, 2012 and will run until February 14th, 2012.

JEMCON "STARLIGHT GIRLS" FASHION :: JEMCON 2012
As with the main Fashion Design Contest, the "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest results in a limited line of produced fashions that help raise money for our designated charity.
The use of the term "Starlight Girls" in the title is to identify the younger age of this contest's designers and should not be confused with fashions designed to fit the smaller Starlight Girl dolls. Fashions designed for this contest should therefore be aimed to fit an adult sized, 12½" fully-poseable fashion doll.
When is the JemCon 2012 "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest?
The JemCon 2012 "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest (for designers aged 15 years and under) is open from January 6th, 2012 to January 31st, 2012.
Please be aware that deadlines run to JemCon time, which may not be the same as your local time-zone.

What happens once all the entries have been received?
Every design entered into the JemCon 2012 "Starlight Girls" Fashion Design Contest will be in the voting final.
Jem fans can then vote for their favorite on the JemCon messageboard during the early part of February, 2012.
The fashion that receives the most votes will be the
JemCon 2012: Show Me The Way to St. Louis, official "Starlight Girls" fashion.
